As you would expect from Ashlyns, all of our meat has been produced to very exacting standards such as Farm Assured, Freedom Farm and Free Range and is prepared by our highly skilled butchers here at the farm.
We try to source as much of our fresh produce as locally as possible to help us keep food miles down, support local farmers, provide local employment and help us build a strong link between grower and consumer.
And because we pack it so carefully you don't have to wait in, your box can be left safely in a place of your choice and your meat will still be in perfect condition when you get home, ready to cook, refrigerate or freeze.

We were surprised and delighted to have won the "Organic Produce of the Year" award at Essex Life's first ever Fine Food and Dining Awards 2011.
There were many categories and every finalist rightly deserved their place. In Essex Life's own words our nomination was for -
"In recent years many of the county's communities, individuals and businesses have been finding inspiring new ways to make their lives or businesses more environmentally sustainable. This award looks to honour the best new ideas that are helping us to eat and drink more healthily, and in a way that is more healthy for our environment. From the farmer rebuilding habitats for wildlife to the farmhouse breakfast made with zero food miles, this category aims to reward those taking the time out to care for our county's countryside and culinary reputation."
Food, farming, the local environment and most importantly supporting local producers are a passion of ours and we are incredibly proud to have won such a presitigous award. |

| Award Winning School Catering |

Ashlyns have been awarded the prestigious Bronze Food for Life Catering Mark for our work with schools. This has been awarded by the Soil Association in recognition for serving fresh, healthy meals to schools in Essex, Hackney and Cambridgeshire. A select number of schools working with the Ashlyns Catering Partnership have been rewarded for supplying food served that is fresh, healthy and made with carefully sourced local and organic ingredients. We have also been awarded the Silver Catering Mark for our work with St. Margarets Hospital in Epping and Braintree Community Hospital. These are the only hospitals in the country that have achieved such an award and we are very proud of this achievement. Click here to find out more about Food for Life
