Easing the burden for schools

AGAP was developed from the acclaimed Defra supported 'Feeding Our Future' project, which was set up to provide local children with locally produced food. The Ashlyns Organics Ltd project, inspired by Jeanette Orrey (The Dinner Lady) is set up to train cooks, parents and others how to use fresh and local produce to improve the range and quality of food for school children. The project helps schools to meet the government's nutritional guidelines. Menus are developed working with Soil Association Food For Life targets being:
. 75% unprocessed
. 50% local
. 30% organic

The monitoring of food miles for each delivery will also be a key element of the commitment to the schools
