Harvest 2020 is Underway!

It's that time of year again. On Wednesday afternoon we tentatively started the combine and began harvesting the Oil Seed Rape.

So far, so good and the conditions are nigh on perfect. It's yielding at just over one tonne per acre which is respectable and it's at 9% moisture which is ideal. In total we have got about 230 acres and by Friday lunchtime there is only about 60 acres left to cut.

Most of the OSR is sent to Erith in Kent where it is processed into Rapeseed Oil to be used in cooking. Next up is the Barley, then a short break until the wheat is ripe enough
